Norway and Georgia will take their place one rung higher next year in the Davis Cup by BNP Paribas after both nations were promoted to Europe/Africa Zone Group II with wins on the final day of action in San Marino.
In the battle of the relegated sides from 2014, a Marcos Baghdatis-less Cyprus were powerless to prevent young Casper Ruud and Viktor Durasovic from winning the two singles rubbers in straight sets.
Ruud defeated Christos Hadjigeorgiou 61 62, while Durasovic sealed promotion with a 62 63 victory over Petros Chrysochos.
