Greece maintained their unbeaten start to the Nations League with a 0-0 draw against Germany in Thessaloniki on Sunday, 4 October.
The result left Greece second in Group A2 with eight points from four matches, level with leaders the Netherlands. Germany remained third on five points.
After beating Germany 1-0 in Augsburg a week earlier, Greece frustrated Jürgen Klopp’s side again despite sustained pressure from the visitors.
Germany dominated possession and created more opportunities, but could not turn their attacking advantage into a goal.
Greece threatened early through Fotis Ioannidis, whose header forced goalkeeper Jonas Urbig into a save.
Jonathan Burkardt later thought he had given Germany the lead, but his effort was disallowed following a VAR review that identified a handball by Tom Bischof in the build-up.
Both sides had further chances, with Konstantinos Mavropanos and Giorgos Masouras among those threatening for Greece, but neither could find a breakthrough.
The draw continued Greece’s strong campaign and left them well placed heading into November’s final group matches.
For Germany, the result meant Klopp finished his first four matches in charge with one victory, two draws and a defeat.
