A HOODED man threatened kiosk staff at knife point shortly before nabbing around €200 in the early hours of yesterday morning in Larnaca. At around 1am, the man approached the cashier, holding a knife, grabbed the money from the till and fled on foot. The assailant is described as being well-built, around 1.75m tall, and was last seen wearing a long-sleeved shirt with a grey hoodie and white gloves.
Larnaca police spokesman Christos Andreou said there were strong indications that the perpetrator was also responsible for committing another four robberies in recent days in bakeries and kiosks that operate on a 24-hour basis.
Andreou called on members of the public to give any information they may have to police either anonymously or in person. He also advised kiosk owners to take additional security measures in their shops.
