A 61-YEAR-OLD man from the village of Kaminaria in Limassol was discovered dead under a tree yesterday morning at around 11am.
“He was found completely crushed,” a police report said.
Socrates Nearchou had gone to chop wood in the early morning and had been missing for several hours.
His brother-in-law, who had gone looking for Nearchou, pulled him from under the trunk of a large tree in the neighbouring village of Treis Elies, the police said.
Nearchou was taken to Limassol General Hospital where the doctors of duty established his death. A post mortem is scheduled for today.
