A 34 year old man is in police custody on suspicion of murdering his father inside their farm at Meniko, in the Nicosia district. The incident took place at 6.30 pm on Saturday. Police said the suspect, 34, had telephoned the policeemergency number to say that he had stabbed his father. Police rushed to the farm and were able to persuade the man to give himself up. The father was rushed to Nicosia Hospital with multiple stab wound but died on arrival, despite the best efforts of the doctors. Doctors told the media that he had been stabbed at least 20 times sustaining injuries to the neck, chest and hands. Police are questioning the suspect.
