The UK-Cyprus Enterprise Council has announced the addition of two more distinguished UK Cypriots to its team of professionals working towards enhancing trade and partnerships between the two countries.
Chairman of the UKCEC Peter Droussiotis said he was delighted with the additions of Ellie Patsalos and Robert Kyprianou as both of them “bring deep business and financial knowledge and unrivalled connections to the table and will make a significant contribution to the Council’s work in the UK and Cyprus.”
Ellie Patsalos is the founder and Managing Director of Patsalos Consulting Ltd, a strategic advisory firm, with long experience in the professional services sector. Robert Kyprianou has held senior management positions in several blue-chip City organisations in a career spanning more than 30 years. Since retiring from executive work in 2009, he has moved into a number of advisory and board positions with banks, public and private companies, and endowments in the United Kingdom and in Cyprus.
Droussiotis also said that he and his colleagues were looking forward to an exciting programme of events during 2016.
Upcoming highlights on the UKCEC agenda include an event with Henley & Partners; an Ambassadors’ networking luncheon; a seminar on the importance of transparency and corporate social responsibility; and an SME-focused symposium in Cyprus. This events series is expected to culminate in a “Gala for Enterprise” showcasing some of the best aspects of Cyprus and its people.
The Council is also one of the sponsors of ‘London to Nicosia – Art, Expression ad Connection’, an exhibition which is the brainchild of Robert Kyprianou, and which aims to link Cypriot artists of the British diaspora to their homeland; the exhibition of works by Renos Lavithis, Andrea Tyrimou, Despina Symeou and Robert Kyprianou will be hosted at the Zmart Gallery of Loukia & Michael Zampelas Art Museum in Nicosia in April 2016 and will be opened by the High Commissioner of the UK in Cyprus, Ric Todd, in the presence of the Cyprus Minister for Education and Culture, Costas Kadis, on 6th April 2016.
Additionally, high-profile Cyprus-UK Business Forum events, organised jointly with the Council’s strategic partners on the island, the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and the Cyprus Investment Promotion Agency, and with the participation of the Cyprus Minister for Energy, Commerce, Industry and Tourism, are planned for London and Edinburgh in the autumn.
