Over €98 mln invested for 2025-2027 urban development projects in Cyprus, Ioannou says

The government is planning public investments of over €98 million for urban development projects across Cyprus in the three-year period 2025-2027, according to the Minister of the Interior, Konstantinos Ioannou.

Addressing the inauguration of the urban planning project “Redevelopment of Squares and Streets in the Core of Idali – Phase B2” on Friday, Ioannou said that the dozens of urban regeneration projects being carried out or promoted by the government in all provinces are the result of a targeted policy, which is part of his Ministry’s overall strategic plan to contribute to the development and revitalization of urban areas and the countryside, as well as the promotion and protection of natural and cultural heritage.

The Minister, who was addressing the event on behalf of President Nikos Christodoulides, said that in order to achieve these objectives, the Department of Town Planning and Housing is investing in the construction of urban planning projects with an amount exceeding €98 million for the period 2025-2027, noting that this amount is available for the execution of road works and infrastructure, with the aim of improving the image and quality of life of Municipalities and Communities.
