Calling all those in the Cypriot Community of London!
The Cyprus Centre of London Metropolitan University organised a drop-in session at the Cypriot Community Centre in Wood Green on Monday 23rd March 2026,
The Royal Holloway University of London have twenty students who have taken the option of studying Cyprus Geography and Politics. These students had planned a human geography field trip to Cyprus but unfortunately due to current events in Iran and across the Middle East, this trip was cancelled. Keen to enable their students to continue with their projects and to learn more about Cyprus and its people, two professors at the Royal Holloway approached the Cyprus Centre at London Metropolitan University, hoping we could help. And we passed the call for help to the community!
A number of students were at the Cypriot Community Centre (Earlham Grove, Wood Green, London N22 5HJ) on Monday 23rd March between 12.00 – 3.00pm and they asked community members about life in Cyprus and the experiences of those in the community, place, culture, politics and environment. This was a relatively informal event with students conducting interviews and discussions amongst those there, with all putting in an input with their experiences.
They would like to thank the Cypriot Community Centre, LGR, Parikiaki and the A.G. Leventis Foundation for their support.
