AEK U14s go marching on

Borehamwood 2000 v AEK

In torrential rain and swirling wind, AEK U14s travelled to Shenley for an early kick-off to the delight of the parents (!)

With AEK going into the game on good form, it was always going to be a tough contest against an improving Borehamwood side.

With the conditions very much dictating the play, AEK began to take control of the match, constantly threatening from wide positions. Their first goal came from such a manner with the dangerous Michael combining well with Nahimia who delivered a great near-post cross for Kai to beat his man and slot home to put AEK 1-0 up midway through the first half.

With his confidence high, Kai then showed a great piece of skill to evade his marker, play a clever pass into space for Michael to run into who played a first time cross into the box, for Kai, who continued his run and bury his second goal for AEK to go in 2-0 up at half time.

With the conditions worsening, the second half was furious, with Borehamwood seeking a way back, they came close to a lifeline but the AEK defence stood firm and resolute and on the break, Angel pounced on a loose ball after the keeper spilled a great Nahimia shot to put AEK 3-0 up and out of reach.

Another commanding performance from the ever improving and high flying AEK U14s to keep them top of the league.

Goals – Kai (2), Angel (1)
