PAUL ECONOMIDES beat Artif Arif in a ten round fight at the Barnsley metrodome for the vacant central area super-bantamweight title both boxers are from from the north-west of England respectively. Artif Ali has been eager for an opportunity in recent months following the on/off saga between himself and Michael Gomez Jnr which has played out over social media in 2017. The 29 year old has been a pro since 2013 and mades a huge leap in opposition when he faced Economides.
Economides is a known entity at this level and has previously faced the likes of Gavin McDonnell, Ash Lane, Michael Ramabeletsa and Sean Davis in his career so far to date. A previous challenger for a Welsh area title, Economides could well be in last chance saloon for a major push at a big domestic title and success on Friday will be a key for those future opportunities to come to fruition.
