Archdiocese represented at the Anglican and Eastern Churches Association reception

On Thursday, 10th October, the Anglican and Eastern Churches Association organized a reception for Orthodox clergy. Following the Evensong service at Westminster Abbey, attendees proceeded to the Jerusalem Chamber, where they were welcomed by The Reverend Dr. James Hawkey, Canon of Westminster Abbey. The guests were also greeted by the Right Reverend Jonathan Baker, Bishop of Fulham, on behalf of the Anglican Church, and by Archbishop Hovakim of the Armenian Church, representing the Eastern Oriental Churches.

Bishop Jonathan Baker also took the opportunity to speak about the AECA pilgrimage, which will take place next year and will be co-led by Archbishop Nikitas of Thyateira and the Right Reverend and Right Honourable Lord Chartres, former Bishop of London. Among the attendees were members of the Anglican clergy and representatives from most Orthodox Churches present in the UK.

His Eminence Archbishop Nikitas, recognizing the theological significance of this organization and being actively involved in its work, was represented at the event by the Ecumenical Officer, Reverend Presbyter Andreas Minic. The Archdiocese of Thyateira is committed to broader participation in society and actively engages in various social, ecumenical, and other programs that foster dialogue. These initiatives aim to connect people of different denominations throughout the UK.
