British Cypriot artist KAT launches female-led IWD platform in London
London-born British Cypriot alt-pop artist KAT will headline her first multi-disciplinary curated show this International Women’s Day with the launch of IWD Live, an independent, cross-cultural, female-led platform bringing together music, film and spoken word in one artist-driven space.
The debut edition will be hosted at Theatro Technis in Camden – a registered charity theatre dedicated to championing unheard voices and independent artists.
Founded and curated by KAT, IWD Live reflects her experience building a career outside traditional industry structures while carving out space as a Mediterranean woman within the UK music landscape.
“IWD Live is about creating the stage I didn’t see growing up – one where women are centred, creatively free, and able to cross boundaries between disciplines,” says KAT.
A multi-disciplinary celebration of female creativity
The evening brings together a female-led line-up of musicians, filmmakers and spoken word artists working across disciplines and creative styles. IWD Live is driven by artistic voice, independence and collaboration – creating space for women to present bold, cross-medium work in one curated setting.
Audiences can expect:
• Live alt-pop and contemporary music performances
• Short film screenings followed by discussion
• Spoken word exploring identity and self-definition
• An exclusive premiere of KAT’s upcoming music video, One Man Show.
IWD Live marks KAT’s first headline show combining multiple creative mediums under one platform, following previous headline performances centred on her music.
Full line-up includes:
Performers: KAT, Emily Fields, Blue Moon
Spoken Word: Connie
Short Films: Charlie’s Freedom, Night Armour, and The Orange Keepers (followed by a Q&A)
The night will also be supporting the charity Women + Health.
