Minister of Culture of the People`s Republic of China Cai Wu is paying an official visit to Cyprus, heading a six-member delegation, at the invitation of Education and Culture Minister Kyriakos Kenevezos.
According to an official press release, the aim of the visit is the signing of an Executive Programme on Cultural Cooperation between Cyprus and China. The signing ceremony will take place on Saturday in the presence of the Chinese Ambassador to Cyprus Liu Xinsheng and high-ranking technocrats from both countries.
According to the press release, efforts aiming at the signing of this Executive Programme began last year. It is also reminded that Chinese Minister of Culture visited Cyprus last October while Cyprus Education and Culture Minister visited China in December.
It is also noted that the promotion of relations with China in the field of culture constitutes part of a broader effort to further enhance relations with this country.
