Greek Cypriot negotiator Andreas Mavroyiannis and Turkish Cypriot negotiator Kudret Özersay will meet on Tuesday in the framework of their substantive negotiations on the Cyprus problem.
The two negotiators entered last Tuesday in substantive negotiations on federal public service, federal competences and property.
A statement attributable to the Spokesperson of the UN Good Offices Mission in Cyprus Michele Bonnardeaux issued after their meeting said that the two negotiators agreed to continue the negotiations on these and other issues at their next meeting on Tuesday, 13 May.
In the meantime, according to Bonnardeaux a meeting of the property experts of the two sides would take place, while the UN would also meet bilaterally with the two negotiators to prepare for their next joint meeting, that will take place tomorrow.
Cyprus was divided in 1974 when Turkey invaded and occupied its northern third. The leaders of the two communities agreed in February on a joint declaration which paved the way for the UN-backed talks to resume with the aim to reunite the island under a federal roof.
