BRAIN haemorrhage caused by severe traumas to the skull base was given as the cause of death for the stray dog Billy dumped in a hotel’s cardboard crusher by a necropsy carried out on Tuesday.
The necropsy was carried out by a vet of the state Veterinary Services in the presence of the police and a vet representing the Animal Party.
“He had severe traumas in other parts of his body,” said head of the Animal Party Kyriacos Kyriacou.
The necropsy’s findings will be given to the investigator in charge of the case of Billy’s abuse.
After the necropsy, Billy’s body was delivered to Kyriacou, who was to transfer him to Limassol where he will be buried by the Animal Party.
Billy, who was thrown alive in a cardboard crushing machine by two employees of a beach hotel in Protaras two weeks ago, died on Friday, after being in a coma since his rescue.
