Dr Evangelou has been nominated to attend the Queen’s Garden Party at Buckingham Palace on Wednesday 21st May. Dr Evangelou was honoured and humbled to receive his invitation to Buckingham Palace to have tea with the Queen.
This invitation is in recognition for his outstanding work in the community and for his humanitarian work in this country and in Africa. He is a selfless servant who for almost 30 years has faithfully served his local community. One aspect of this work is as Head Coach of the Edmonton Eagles Amateur Boxing Club where he works tirelessly and has seen many young lives leave behind negative and destructive lifestyles to find direction and purpose through the discipline and mentoring that the Club provides. One initiative of his humanitarian work was to set up and fund the building of a clinic in a remote village in Ghana. The clinic was desperately needed by this community of 4000 people who have no other access to medical care. To help raise funds required for the building of the clinic Dr Evangelou twice ran the London Marathon.
