EU Commissioner Gunther Oettinger has visited Pafos, on the southwest coast of Cyprus, which is one of the 2017 European Capitals of Culture.
Oettinger and his delegation were briefed by President of Pafos 2017 Board Christos Patsalides, about the various events that take place there. Oettinger expressed his satisfaction for the successful program of Pafos 2017.
Patsalides said that Pafos` membership worked as a catalyst for the construction of infrastructure and the development of many activities that have to do with culture. He referred to the many collaborations that the city has developed within the framework of Pafos 2017 that can be the beginning of a long cultural endeavour for Pafos and its citizens.
