Images released as part of appeal following unexplained Cypriot’s death in Potters Bar

Detectives investigating the sudden death of a man in Potters Bar in October are releasing images of a vehicle similar to that of a van they would like to identify as part of their enquiries.

Forty-one year old Milton Papadopoulos (Photo below) was found deceased at his home address in Parkfield View on Wednesday, October 22. His death, which is being treated as unexplained, is being investigated by detectives from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit.

The investigation, which is called Operation Pinene, is currently trying to establish the exact circumstances surrounding Milton’s death. A post mortem, which was carried out in October, was inconclusive.

As part of the investigation, officers would like to speak to the occupant or occupants of a white Vauxhall Combo van, which was believed to have been seen in the area on the same day of the discovery of Milton’s body.

The van is believed to be a model from between 2002 and 2009. Its registration plates read T531 RFE.

Detective Sergeant Heath Monk, from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit, said: “Milton’s death is still currently unexplained and we are following all lines of enquiry to ensure we have the full the picture surrounding the circumstances of what happened.

“As information has come to light that the van may have been in the area on the same day that Milton’s body was discovered, we would like to identify the occupant(s) of the vehicle as they may be able to assist us with our enquiries.

“This is a distinctive vehicle, as it was carrying at least one ladder, had no tax disc displayed and had a crack in the windscreen. If you were the driver of this van, please contact us as soon as possible. We would also like to hear from anyone who remembers seeing this vehicle in the area during the week commencing October 20.”

Anyone with any information in relation to Milton’s death or remembers seeing a van similar to the one pictured in the area during the stated time, should contact the Major Crime Unit’s incident room via 01707 355 666.

Alternatively, people can call the non-emergency number 101, quoting Operation Pinene, or call Crimestoppers, the independent charity, anonymously on 0800 555 111.
