First Division
Omonia 1 Livadia 2
Plenty of goalmouth action with both teams full on attacking and the sun bringing out loads of supporters to enjoy the match.
The first half was evenly matched with Livadia taking the lead with Elias Katsoloudi and Omonia equalising with Harry Elia.
It was great to see the game being played in great spirit both teams have new players and Tolga Livadia’s manager is working hard getting his team to gel whilst Omonia have a new manager in ex New Salamis player Danny Bailey and he is slowly getting his team to play his style of entertaining football.
There was great football action from both sides and I can only see them getting better but what is good is that their entertaining with it. Aris Savva the Omonia make shift goalkeeper who usually plays was outstanding in goal.
When it looked liked the game might be going into a draw Livadia’s Luke Procopiou popped up late in the game to score the winning goal.
New Salamis 3 Anorthosis 5
Last year’s League champions New Salamis dropped their first points of the season versus Famagusta rivals Anorthosis who now go top of the table after two wins on the trot it was a great all action match but a very heated game New Salamis took the lead with Richard Georgiou after ten minutes and it was not surprising when both teams were soon down to ten men with Lawrence Constanti, of New Salamis and Leon Fisher sent off.
But then the second half it all kicked off and Anorthosis in no time were 4-1 up New Salamis were able to reduce the score to 4-3 in the 89th minute and New Salamis were looking like they were going to equalise but now they were down to nine men when Dan was sent off and Alex Anderson popped up in the dying minutes to score to make it a hat trick for him and secure the win for Anorthosis .
Anorthosis other goals were scored by Robert Katsikas and Ricardo. New Salamis John Kyriacou and Dimitri.
Pantel 1 Olympia 2
There are signs that Pantel are improving by holding out much fancied Olympia to a one goal difference but they are still searching for their first point of the season.
whereas Steve Cinotti’s Olympia are back to their winning ways with their first win of the season and two goals coming from Ricky Louca.
Second Division
Panathinaikos 3 KLN 3
A great fightback from KLN
KLN got of to a flying start with 2 goals in the first 10 mins.
The experienced KLN powered their way ahead , firstly taking the lead with a shot that went under the keepers body from Chris Papacosta and secondly from the goalkeepers kick the big 17 Max Papacosta muscled his way pass the centre back and keeper to make it 2 nil.
The third goal was similar the forward Max again powered past the centreback and slipping the ball pass the oncoming keeper.
Panathinaikos had no answer but to keep trying to play their game ie keeping the ball on the ground annd not in the air!
A couple of stern words from Manager George at half time led PAO to play their passing game and were the stonger team.
They pulled a goal back after 10 mins through Anthony Constantinou
And were looking more dangerous on the break.
A penalty awarded by ref Doros for handball gave Alex Ctori the chance to reduce the deficit with a well taken penalty.
Game on as PAO pushed for the equaliser with the KLN team tiring the youngsters of Panthinaikos pulled off a great comeback when Nicholas Michael scored after a goalmouth scramble.
Achna 0 Komi Kebir 6
Achna who last week thrashed Brotherhood 11-1 got a good hiding this week themselves losing to Komi Kebir 6-0 who were very convincing with their goals coming from Lenos 2, Kyri, Michael, Duncan and George.
