Lord Adonis: New project in Saudi Arabia

Former Foreign Secretary David Miliband, who has just landed yet another lucrative job outside Westminster with a Pakistan-based City firm, taking his earnings to £500,000 in 15 months, isn’t the only ex-Labour minister using government experience to swell his bank balance. Lord Adonis, Tony Blair’s education adviser who went on to become an education minister in 2005, began work this month on a special project for Boston Consulting Group, providing advice to the Riyadh Schools, a group of schools in Saudi Arabia — He is helping Saudi politicians develop a new education model for their kingdom. It is the sort of post for which he can expect to be handsomely rewarded — and may deter him from standing for Mayor of London in 2016 as he has previously hinted. Lord Adonis is born in the UK but father is from Yialoussa in Cyprus.
