Detectives investigating the murder of a 25-year-old man in Wood Green are appealing for information and witnesses to come forward.
Police in Haringey were called at 04:44 today, Tuesday, 23 August, to reports of a man found injured in the street.
Officers and the London Ambulance Service attended and the man was found seriously injured, believed at this early stage to be as a result of stab wounds. Paramedics started first aid but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 19-year-old man was arrested this afternoon on suspicion of murder. He was bailed to a date in August.
Detective Chief Inspector Andy Chalmers, who is leading the investigation said: “I am appealing for anyone in the area of Maryland Road or Glendale Avenue who saw or heard anything suspicious in the early hours of this morning, particularly between 04:00 and 05:00.
“At this early stage we believe that the man was attacked inside an address in nearby Maryland Road but managed to escape outside, and attempt to get away ending up in Glendale Avenue.
“We are keeping an open mind regarding the possible motivation behind this murder, and I am keen to hear from anyone who may be able to help.”
Formal identification has yet to take place and next of kin have yet to be informed. A post-mortem will be held on Wednesday, 24 August, at Haringey Mortuary.
