An unidentified elderly man lost consciousness while swimming at Mackenzie beach around 11 am on Monday and bathers there dragged him out of sea, police said.
He was proclaimed dead at the coastal town’s hospital, and no foul is suspected.
Police also sai dthey are waiting for relatives to look for him before an autopsy is carried out to clarify the cause of death.
