A 42 year old man has been detained by Paphos Police for threatening and stealing money from his 84 year old mother in law. His wife who is the daughter of the victim was also originally arrested but later released.
They allegedly took the victim’s pension and her savings of 8,000 Euros.
Paphos police arrested a couple after an 84 year old woman ey reported that her daughter and son in law had used threats and violence to take her monthly pension and other sums of money.
She said that they had also taken €8000 of her savings.
The two were arrested and questioned with the woman later released while her husband remained in police custody.
On Thursday, the 42 year old man was remanded in custody by Paphos district court for six days.
