Bushey Sports Club 2 – 4 New Salamis
A great result away from home in theirr first ever Saturday Herts County Senior Premier League match.
A tight first half against two very committed teams. Salamina had the lion share of the first half chances. Dean Fenton scored our first ever league goal, to make it 1-0 on the 38 minute mark. We should then have had a penalty when Harrison Georgiou was brought down in the box, but it was not given.
Salamina went 2-0 ahead when Andy Anastasiou’s though ball down the wing saw the impressive Andreas Chambi sprint down the wing and send a first time cross from the right for Harrison to make it 2-0 with a half volley.
The second half saw Bushey come out very strongly and they reduced the deficit from a corner 2-1 on 53 minutes. Salamina then went further on the 63 minute when the ball was cut back to Richard Georgiou and he made it 3-1. Salamina were pegged back minutes later when a long range shot took a deflection which Charlie Crowley in goal did brilliantly to stop only for the rebound to be smashed home 3-2.
Salamina secured the points with a fourth goal in the 73rd minute by Richard Georgiou from a Andreas Chambi cross from the right hand side and he slotted home from close range. 4-2
Three points secured on the first day of the season. Well done red. #NewBeginnings
