A would-be robber left the Lakatamia area bakery he targeted not only empty-handed but also wet.
According to the police, the would-be robber entered the bakery at around 1am on Sunday and, covering his face with his coat, demanded cash from the on-duty employee.
Instead, the employee began to hit the robber with a tray she was holding. When the robber took a small knife out of his pocket and moved towards her, the woman threw a bucket of water at him, prompting the man to run off.
The robber is described as 1.75m tall, of regular build, and with dark hair. He was wearing black clothes and trainers at the time of the attempted robbery.
CID Nicosia is investigating.
