A HOODED man yesterday stole around €40,000 from a Nicosia district cooperative bank after holding an employee at knifepoint.
Reports said the man apparently ambushed the female employee as she was opening the cooperative at the village of Episkopio at around 7.30am.
The robber approached from behind and under the threat of a knife he forced her to open the safe.
He then took €43,000 and fled the scene on a motorcycle
