The 18th World Conference of Overseas Cypriots (POMAK-PSEKA) is set to take place 25-27 August in Nicosia.
The Conference will be opened by President Nicos Anastasiades late in the afternoon on 25th of August. The President is expected to brief the Central Councils of organisations of Overseas Cypriots at a meeting at the Presidential Palace the following day.
All delegates from all the Cyprus communities abroad (England, USA, Australia, Canada, Greece, South Africa and elsewhere) will also be briefed on the Cyprus issue, the hydrocarbons and the economy, during closed sessions.
The Conference will be addressed by House President, political parties and others.
Cyprus has been divided since the 1974 Turkish invasion. UN-backed talks are underway with the aim to reunite the island under a federal roof.
