President of the Republic Nicos Anastasiades briefed here today Cypriot Ambassadors serving abroad as well as heads of Foreign Ministry Divisions on the ongoing negotiating process for a Cyprus solution.
The Republic`s Ambassadors were hosted at the Presidential Palace in the framework of their annual meeting.
“The President briefed us on the progress in the negotiations to solve the Cyprus problem. We also discussed ways to promote the economic and commercial interests of Cyprus and attract foreign investment,” Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Alexandros Zenon stated after the meeting.
He said that there was also a discussion, the President answered questions raised by the Ambassadors and gave instructions on how to deal with various issues.
“We had a general discussion. The President`s instructions are usually forwarded through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, but this meeting was useful in the sense that we heard first hand the priorities set by the President and what he thinks of the peace process and ways to promote the Republic`s economic and commercial interests” he noted.
