To mark the end of International Recovery Month, the council highlighted the success of more than 2,000 people dedicated to overcoming addiction by using the specialist support available in Haringey.
Councillor Lucia das Neves, Cabinet Member for Health, Social Care & Wellbeing said:
“In Haringey, we are proud to dedicate such a unique celebration event to those in recovery, and all the people who support them along the way.
“We provide specialist support to anyone experiencing issues with drugs and alcohol, in whatever way support means to them. If you would like any help, please know that friendly experts are waiting in our borough.”
Over the last twelve months since the last celebration event, the council has:
• Launched a new collaborative service with Exchange Supplies that allows residents to gain quick access to harm reduction services.
• Launched a new e-referral form so that is even easier for residents and healthcare professionals to refer someone or themselves. This e-referral form can be found here.
• Our STAND Haringey (club-drug clinic) service has extended the number of days they are open at Hornsey Neighbourhood Health Centre.
• Opened a new rapid-prescribing service at Northumberland Park Resource Centre. Extended our pharmacy services to include harm reduction services.
