Ten fire engines and around 70 firefighters have been called to a fire at a residential block on Royal Drive in New Southgate.
Firefighters are tackling a blaze at a five-storey building where part of the roof is on fire. Around 25 people left the building before the Brigade arrived. One woman has been assisted from the third floor by firefighters and the London Ambulance Service. No injuries have been reported.
The building had been fitted with a sprinkler system, which was activated and has helped to reduce the fire from spreading.
The Brigade was called at 1148. Fire crews from Southgate, Finchley, Hendon, West Hampstead and surrounding fire stations are at the scene.
The cause of the fire is not known at this time.
