St Panteleimon promoted to the first division of the KOPA football league

Second Division

Komi Kebir 1 St Panteleimon 3

It may have been Valentines Day but the Saints were certainly in no mood for kind gestures. A win would see them promoted to the First Division in their debut season!

They say this game is best kept simple and at times their passing, movement and high tempo brand of football has been consistent this season. This is a team that were formed a few months ago but you’d be forgiven for thinking they had been together for years. Komi Kebir competed with all the passion you’d expect of such a strong group but St. Panteleimon came out on top.

The Saints took the lead on 20 minutes through a brilliant strike from the outstanding Igkli Sevaj. Several more chances followed but none were converted by the Saints. The second half saw the same pattern of possession and pressure and on 56 minutes Igkli Sevaj ran onto a great ball from Jake Hadji to fire in his second of the game. On 75 minutes Igkli completed his hatrick with another top strike that eluded the keeper. Komi Kebir scored a consolation goal in the last minute through George Syrtiadis but the game was already over.

This victory secures promotion for St. Panteleimon FC to the First Division and on this showing they will may surprise the first division and with maybe the addition of a few players they will get stronger.

Congratulations to St Panteleimon
