Both the UN and the EU had recorded what happened at Crans Montana and its not what the government says happened, Stefanos Stefanou pointed out, in reply to Government Spokesperson Prodromos Prodromou.
Speaking to “Astra” radio station, the AKEL C.C. Spokesperson stressed that what matters is not what is being said for internal consumption purposes, but that both the UN and the EU assign responsibilities on the two communities and not on Turkey for the collapse of the talks at Crans Montana. Instead of asking for explanations from the opposition, Mr. Stephanou added, should ask for explanations from UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres and High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federico Mogherini.
Regarding the terms of reference, Mr. Stefanou said that it is important on whom responsibilities will be assigned if there aren’t any results and underlined that President Anastasiades must demonstrate in practice his willingness to resume negotiations.
