Back trouble forced Greece’s Stefanos Tsitsipas to bow out of Wimbledon during his opening match against French qualifier Valentin Royer, who advanced to the second round in his debut at the Championships.
“It’s tough to describe. I’m battling many wars these days. It’s really painful to see myself in a situation like this,” said the 26-year-old Tsitsipas.
“I have been very fragile with my body, and I have been struggling in a battle to feel healthy and comfortable going to extremes, which has been a tough battle,” the former World No 3 added.
