Akinci will be leaving for Istanbul today before heading on to New York. He will be holding contacts within the 70th General Council meetings of the UN.
According to a schedule of his meeting, Akinci is expected to meet with US Secretary of State John Kerry on Thursday 1 October and the UNSG Ban Ki Moon on the 2nd of October. It is expected that Akinci will be meeting with the Turkish PM Davutoglu whilst there as well.
Other top level meetings are planned during his visit, which will end on the 4th of October.
