Vaccination portal open in Cyprus until Thursday for 61 and over, Health Ministry urges citizens to book appointments

Vaccination portal is to remain open until Thursday at 1900 local time for citizens 61 years old and over to book their appointments, the Health Ministry said in an announcement, urging all to log in and make an appointment as any delay increases the risk of serious illness in case someone gets infected with COVID-19.

The Ministry said that the vaccination strategy is going ahead according to plan with all authorised vaccines adding that the European Medicines Agency today announced that AstraZeneca remains a safe and efficient vaccine and the benefits from using it are far greater than any side effects.

EMA, the Ministry said, announced that possible cases of blood clots are extremely rare but it will include this side effect in the leaflet of the vaccine.

The portal for people aged 61 and over opened for a few minutes in the morning but due to a surge in demands for appointments it went down a bit later. It reopened at 1700 Wednesday.
