We sadly announce that popular UK Cypriot Eleni (Lenia) Zemenides has passed away

† DEATH ANNOUNCEMENT

Eleni (Lenia) Zemenides

(from Nicosia, Cyprus)

It is with great sadness that the family of Eleni Zemenides announces her passing on May 31st 2020 at the age of 66 years.

Eleni peacefully departed at her home in North London and will lovingly be remembered by her daughter Sophia, her son Michael along with the families of her sister Maria and brother Nearchos.

Eleni took great pride in her role as Head of Education and Training at the Fetal Medicine Foundation and her open-hearted approach to life mean that she has many friends and family with whom she enjoyed close relationships.

Unfortunately, given that we are in the midst of a pandemic a closed funeral service will be held. We believe in the current circumstances she would have loved for her friends to celebrate her life and remember the good times they shared together in small gatherings. We would like to suggest this takes place on the 40th day of her passing: the 9th July 2020.

We invite those wishing to send flowers to please make a charitable donation in lieu to the Fetal Medicine Foundation.

Αn ode to thee

As you fly free

Beloved Mother

For whom we now gather

Never forgetting

Your large sparkling eyes, exquisitely begetting

Long-lasting friendships with a warm hug of closeness

And measured astuteness

Ever present with a veil of calmness

Flashing your brilliant smile, exuding kindness

Always going that extra mile

As you continue to beguile

Remembering you dancing and merry

Hosting parties that were visionary

With an attention to detail and beauty

Reflective of your sense of diligent duty

How you revelled in exploring

Arts, travel, music, faith all alluring

Playing bridge was your penchant

As in growing roses you were triumphant

When you played the piano you would enchant

Our Graceful mother, who will forever blossom in our hearts.
