t DEATH ANNOUNCEMENT
Anthoulla Georgiou
(from Argaki Morphou)
It is with great sadness that we announce the loss of our beloved mother and grandmother, who passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, 16th July 2020, at the age of 91, after a long struggle with Alzheimers.
Anthoulla was born and raised in the village of Argaki, Morphou in 1929 and moved to the UK in 1955 to join her beloved husband Nicodemos
who had arrived ahead to pave the way and carrying with her, her 9-month-old first born son, Panos. In UK she went on to give birth to Bambos and Chrisanthe. She leaves behind her 3 children, daughter in law Stavroulla, 4 granddaughters Elena, Sophia, Raphaella, Laura
and grandson Nicholas.
Anthoulla dedicated her life in support of her husband, both in his work as a tailor and in his passion as an activist for AKEL; and to raising
her children and seeing them each through a university education and instilling in them all very solid and traditional family values and strong
sense of philotimo in their social interactions. Something we will always be grateful for. She was always very outgoing and anything but shy
in expressing her opinions to all and sundry. She was the life and soul of any social gathering and was always first up on the dance floor whenever the opportunity arose.
Anthoulla approached everything with incredible energy, intensity and vigour, especially the love and affection she held for family and her community at large. She was much loved and will be greatly missed but never forgotten. Loving memories of her will live on in our hearts forever.
The funeral will take place at 2:30 pm on Friday 31st July at New Southgate Cemetery, with the wake following at 15 Freston Gardens, EN4 9LX. Due to Covid-19 there will be no Church service which will be delivered at the graveside. We are trying to comply with current Covid-19 social distancing guidelines and are therefore restricting attendance to immediate family and some close friends by invitation
Parikiaki Newspaper extend their condolences to the family
