Diagoras (Jimmy) Eleftheriou 28.01.1932 – 26.05.2021

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, brother & grandfather Diagoras Eleftheriou. After a short illness, he passed away on 26th May 2021 at the Whittington Hospital, at the age of 89. He was born in Nicosia on 28th January 1932 and has lived in London since 1952. He leaves behind his wife Maria, children Terry and Andrew, daughters-in-law Anna and Julie, grandsons Andreas and Lillo and sisters Lydia and Fani. The funeral will take place on Monday 14th June 2021 at 10:00am at St Katherine’s Church, Friern Barnet Lane, London N20 0NL and burial at New Southgate Cemetery, Brunswick Park Road, N11 1JJ at 11:30am. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the attendance at the church is by invitation only, but those wishing to pay their respects can join us at the cemetery, adhering to social distancing rules. Donations are welcome and a donation box will be available at the church and cemetery for those who wish to make a contribution in memory of Diagoras, which will be dedicated to Diabetes UK. Diagoras will be dearly missed by all who knew him, and he will forever be in our hearts.

Με μεγάλη θλίψη και βαριά καρδιά ανακοινώνουμε το θάνατο του αγαπημένου μας συζύγου, πατέρα, αδελφού και παππού Διαγόρα Ελευθερίου. Μετά από μια σύντομη ασθένεια, απεβίωσε στις 26 Μαΐου 2021 στο νοσοκομείο Whittington, σε ηλικία 89 ετών. Γεννήθηκε στη Λευκωσία στις 28 Ιανουαρίου 1932 και ζει στο Λονδίνο από το 1952. Αφήνει πίσω την σύζυγο του Μαρία, 2 παιδιά, Λευτέρη και Ανδρέα, νύφες, Άννα και Τζούλι, εγγόνια Ανδρέας και Λίλλο, αδελφές Λυδία και Φάνη. Η κηδεία θα τελεσθεί τη Δευτέρα 14 Ιουνίου 2021 στις 10:00 π.μ. στην εκκλησία St Katherine, Friern Barnet Lane, London N20 0NL και η ταφή στο κοιμητήριο του New Southgate, Brunswick Park Road, N11 1JJ στις 11:30 π.μ.
Λόγω των περιορισμών του COVID-19, η παρουσία στην εκκλησία γίνεται μόνο κατόπιν πρόσκλησης, αλλά όσοι επιθυμούν μπορούν να έρθουν μαζί μας στο νεκροταφείο, τηρώντας πάντα τους κανόνες κοινωνικής απόστασης. Οι δωρεές είναι ευπρόσδεκτες και ένα κουτί δωρεών θα είναι διαθέσιμο στην εκκλησία και το κοιμητήριο για όσους επιθυμούν να συνεισφέρουν στη μνήμη του Διαγόρα, τα οποία θα δοθούν στο Diabetes UK.
Ο Διαγόρας θα λείψει πολύ από όλους όσοι τον γνώριζαν και θα είναι για πάντα στις καρδιές μας.
