† DEATH ANNOUNCEMENT – FUNERAL
Georgios Petrou

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Georgios Petrou, who passed away on Tuesday 21st May, aged 81.
Born in Agros village in Cyprus, Georgios came to England in 1962, where he met his wife Olympia. They settled in Streatham Hill in south London and had three children, Skev, Marianna and Andreas.
Georgios worked as a chef, running restaurants then cafes before retiring and returning to his beloved Cyprus for part of each year.
As well as his wife and children, Georgios leaves behind 4 grandchildren Poppy, Oonagh, Josh and Eleni, his son in law Tim and daughter in law Claire.
The funeral will take place on Wednesday 19th June 2024 at the Greek Orthodox Church of St Constantine & St Helen, Crystal Palace, 69a Westow Street, London, United Kingdom.

Με μεγάλη θλίψη ανακοινώνουμε τον θάνατο του Γεωργίου Πέτρου, ο οποίος έφυγε από τη ζωή την Τρίτη 21 Μαΐου, σε ηλικία 81 ετών.
Γεννημένος στο χωριό Αγρός της Κύπρου, ο Γεώργιος ήρθε στην Αγγλία το 1962, όπου γνώρισε τη σύζυγό του Ολυμπία. Εγκαταστάθηκαν στο Streatham Hill στο νότιο Λονδίνο και απέκτησαν τρία παιδιά, τη Σκευ, τη Μαριάννα και τον Ανδρέα. Ο Γεώργιος εργάστηκε ως σεφ, έτρεχε εστιατόρια και καφετέριες πριν συνταξιοδοτηθεί και επιστρέφοντας πάντα στην αγαπημένη του Κύπρο κάθε χρόνο.
Εκτός από τη σύζυγο και τα παιδιά του, ο Γεώργιος καταλείπει τα 4 εγγόνια του Πόπη, Oonagh, Josh και Eλένη, τον γαμπρό του Τίμ και τη νύφη του Κλαίρη.
Η κηδεία του θα γίνει την Τετάρτη 19 Ιουνίου 2024, από τον Ελληνικό Ορθόδοξο Ναό Αγίου Κωνσταντίνου & Ελένης, Crystal Palace, 69a Westow Street, London, United Kingdom.
