Detectives investigating a robbery in Cheshunt are appealing for information and witnesses.
The incident happened in Russell’s Ride at 11.50pm yesterday (Wednesday, March 29).
The victim, a teenage boy, was walking on the pavement when he was approached from behind by a man who threatened him with a pocket knife.
He assaulted the victim before forcing him to hand over his possessions, which were an iPhone 5S, an iPhone charger, a set of iPhone headphones and a rucksack.
The suspect then made off in the direction of Waltham Cross.
He is described as black, aged in his 20s, and was wearing a black hoody and a black coat.
Detective Constable Vicky Cornelius, from the Broxbourne Local Crime Unit, said: “This was a frightening incident for the victim but thankfully he was not harmed. We are increasing patrols around the area where we can and I want to reassure people that we are doing everything we can to catch the person responsible.
“I am appealing to anyone who may have seen someone acting suspiciously in the area around the time stated to please come forward and speak to me as you may have crucial evidence. Equally, I would be keen to speak to anyone who is offered an iPhone for sale by someone matching the suspect’s description.”
Anyone with any information that could assist the investigation is asked to contact DC Cornelius on Hertfordshire Constabulary’s non-emergency number 101, quoting crime reference K2/17/1359.
