The Assize Court in Larnaca has jailed a 54-year-old gynaecologist for 26 years for rape and indecent assault against 35 women patients, including two minors.
The President of the Assize Court said that the gynaecologist had outraged public opinion and insulted the morals of his patients.
He noted that the gynaecologist initially faced 210 charges which were then dropped to 165 and he finally admitted guilt in 14 of them.
