Annual Dinner & Dance Brings Together More Than 100 Former Bank of Cyprus UK Colleagues
The Association of Retired Personnel of the Bank of Cyprus UK held its Annual Dinner and Dance on 17 January 2026 at the Cypriot Community Centre in Wood Green, marking one of its most successful gatherings in recent years. More than one hundred former colleagues attended, filling the hall with warmth, laughter, and the unmistakable spirit of camaraderie that has long defined this community.
The evening was organised with great care by former colleagues Maria and Vivo Papaxanthou, whose dedication and attention to detail ensured that every aspect of the event ran smoothly. From the welcoming atmosphere to the lively programme that carried guests through to just before midnight, their efforts were widely praised.
A highlight of the night was the traditional cutting of the Vasilopita, performed this year by the Association’s Chairman, Spyros Kleanthous. In his brief address, he welcomed attendees and reflected on the significance of the occasion—an opportunity to reconnect, share memories, and celebrate the bonds formed during decades of working life. He extended heartfelt wishes to all present, hoping the year ahead would bring health, happiness, and prosperity to them and their families.
The strong turnout, the joyful mood, and the seamless organisation combined to make this year’s Dinner and Dance a resounding success—an evening that reaffirmed the enduring ties of friendship and community among the Association’s members.
