Cypriot title holders APOEL FC have parted company with coach Paulo Sérgio following Thursday’s 3-0 UEFA Europa League defeat by Eintracht Frankfurt.
APOEL’s defeat by Eintracht was the club’s sixth successive European game without a win under the Portuguese boss. “We would like to thank Paulo Sérgio for his understanding and decency during our meeting with him,” read a club statement. “We wish him every success for the future, both professionally and personally.”
