Students should approach their studies like an Olympic athlete in order to be successful in life.
That was the message from Headteacher, Mr. Robert Ahearn, to St Andrew-the-Apostle School students at the start of the new school year on Wednesday (7 September).
After leading prayers in welcome assemblies, Mr. Ahearn cited the example of British Olympic Gold medalist, Chris Mears. He said his winning qualities of hard work, determination, resilience, team work and focus were key to progressing in school and life.
In a special message to founding students, who, four years on, are now embarking on their GCSE studies, he wished them every success and encouraged them to keep up their academic achievements. He said teachers were there to help them and he was sure they would continue to do their best to get good results.
St Andrew the Apostle School, in North London Business Park, is now in its fourth year and was judged “outstanding” in all four categories in its first Ofsted inspection. Parents and students who are interested in joining St Andrew the Apostle School in 2017 can see the school for themselves at an Open Evening on October 3, and during a series of Open Mornings October 4-12.
