British Airways doubles summer flights between Larnaca and London

A twofold increase in the number of flights connecting Larnaca Airport and London’s Heathrow Terminal 5, from 7 to 14 per week, has been announced by British Airways as part of its Summer 2016 schedule.

The existing daily 9:30am flight from Larnaca to Heathrow’s Terminal 5 will be complemented with a new seven days a week fight at 2:50pm. The new flight from London to Larnaca has been scheduled for 7:10am, while the existing one will keep departing at 11:45am.

Announcing the new schedule for the Larnaca-Heathrow Terminal 5 route, British Airways said that the flights will be accompanied by an attractive economy return fare starting from 238 euros and also a one-way fare starting from 104 euros (both inclusive of taxes, plus service fee).

“It’s no coincidence that the doubling of BA’s flights to Larnaca comes at a time when the Cyprus Tourism Organisation has announced a projected increase in the number of tourists expected to visit the island this year. With the prevailing instability in the wider region, Cyprus continues to stand out as a destination that ticks all the boxes for UK holidaymakers, from its golden sandy beaches to its rich history and cultural heritage”, said Freddie Stier, Commercial Manager of British Airways Cyprus and Greece.

Stier added that London remains high on the list of travel destinations for Cypriots, both for business and for pleasure. She also noted that the additional flights and the new economy fares allow customers to combine their travel arrangements to London with a multitude of other locations.

Meanwhile, BA’s flight schedule from Paphos to London Gatwick – with 5 flights per week – will resume on 27 March 2016, taking its total number of weekly flights to and from the island to 19.
