We’re just months away from Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again, and the final trailer is here to get you ready.
It’s been 10 years since the first film whisked us away to a magical Greek island where life was lived through ABBA songs. And now the makers behind the movie are bringing us a brand new Mamma Mia movie which will see fans travel back and forth in time as we learn even more about our favourite characters.
Meryl Streep and Amanda Seyfried are back in their roles as mother and daughter. Sophie (Amanda Seyfried) is pregnant and trying to reconnect with her mother (Meryl Streep); there is intense speculation that her character Donna is dead but she definitely appears in the sequel.
Many of the other original cast members have also returned including Dominic Cooper (Sky), Pierce Brosnan (Sam), Colin Firth (Harry), Stellan Skarsgard (Bill), Christine Baranski (Tanya) and Julie Walters (Rosie).
Flashback scenes reveal Donna’s youth through Lily James (Young Sophie), the men portraying young versions of Bill (Josh Dylan), Sam (Jeremy Irvine), and Harry (Hugh Skinner), and her best friends Rosie (Alexa Davies) and Tanya (Jessica Keenan Wynn). Andy Garcia also joins the cast.
Cher makes a dramatic entrance in the trailer by gate crashing a party. The singing superstar tells her granddaughter Sophie: “That’s the best kind of party, little girl,” as she is informed that she was not invited.
Dressed in white trouser suit, sunglasses and bleached blonde hair, Cher also announces, “I’ve decided to commit to being a grandmother.”
We’ll have to wait until the movie to learn why Rosie calls her the wicked witch of the West.
Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again premieres in the UK on 20th July.
Ciao for now,
