As many of you know, Cockfosters FC victory in the FA Vase semi-final a few weeks ago secured a date at Wembley on 17th May, where they will face AFC Stoneham, from Southampton — league champions and enjoying an outstanding season, much like Cockfosters.
Before they step out at the home of football, there is still important business to take care of. That starts tomorrow evening as they face local neighbours Haringey Borough FC, recent winners of the Spartan South Midlands Football League, in the Premier Division Cup Final. Cockfosters congratulate them on their achievement and look forward to a competitive occasion.
Following that, Cockfosters travel to Risborough Rangers on Wednesday week for the play-off semi-final, where they will be pushing hard to achieve another major target this season — promotion to Step 4 and the chance to join Haringey Borough FC on promotion to that level.
It has been a truly magical season for everyone connected to the club. Chairman, Vas Chiotis is incredibly grateful to all those who have supported the club throughout. Attendances have risen, profile has grown, and the journey has been special — because it is not every day that a club reaches the pinnacle of grassroots football with a final at Wembley Stadium.
We would love the community to come together, get behind the team, and also show support for non-league football.
