Greek Cypriot Entrepreneur Helps Lead Enfield’s Biggest Ever Business Awards
For the third year running, Enfield businessman and proud Greek Cypriot Garry Kousoulou is helping coordinate what is shaping up to be the biggest Enfield Business Awards ever.
This year has seen an incredible response from the local community, with more than 2,000 businesses putting themselves forward and over 25,000 residents from Enfield, Haringey and Barnet helping to vote for their favourites. Together, they have helped identify the businesses, charities and community champions that make North London such a special place.
The awards, which take place alongside the Enfield Business Expo, have become far more than a business event. They are a celebration of local pride, community spirit and the people who quietly make a difference every day.
Garry’s own journey has been an unusual one. Having spent much of his professional life as a dispensing optician, he gradually transitioned into marketing and now runs Loving Social Media, helping businesses across the UK grow their visibility and attract new customers.
“I’ve always enjoyed helping people succeed,” said Garry. “As an optician, that meant helping people see better. Today, it means helping businesses get noticed and grow. The Enfield Business Awards bring those passions together because they give local businesses a platform to be recognised by the communities they serve.”
What makes the awards particularly special is that entry is completely free, ensuring that every business, regardless of size, has the opportunity to participate.
“The numbers this year have been incredible,” Garry added. “To see more than 2,000 businesses step forward and over 25,000 local people take the time to vote shows just how much pride people have in their communities. These awards are not decided in a boardroom. They are shaped by the people who live, work and shop in Enfield, Haringey and Barnet every day.”
As a proud member of the Greek Cypriot community, Garry believes the event reflects values that are deeply important to him.
“Community has always been at the heart of everything we do. These awards celebrate hard work, resilience, family businesses and people supporting one another. That’s something I think resonates strongly across the Greek community too.”
With the finals approaching and excitement building, organisers believe 2026 could be the biggest and most successful year in the history of the Enfield Business Awards.
Businesses and residents are encouraged to continue supporting the awards as the search continues for the very best businesses and community champions across North London.
