Lakis Chrysostomou, won all the honours on the final competition day of the season, the Autumn Classic. He played magnificent golf to win the day with a brilliant score of 39 points, 2 points clear of Tony Philippou. His score also leap frogged all other players at the top of the Order of Merit and thus winning the Player of the Year Award from Chris Philippou who was leading the Order from the first event of the year.

The Autumn Trophy was played on Wednesday 17th October at Brocket Hall Golf Club. Attending the event were 58 members of the Cypriot Golf Society. The weather was good on the day and the golf course was in fantastic condition despite the heavy rain the night before.

The Autumn Classic was sponsored by Mr Nick Staton and Statons Estate Agents LLP. The Captains sweepstakes raised £428.00 on the day making a total of £2613.00 so far. The winner of the sweepstakes was Stephanos Stephanides who won a fourball voucher kindly donated by Brocket Hall Golf Club.

The last major of the season is always exciting for all the players in contention to win the Order of Merit and for all the other players who have one last chance to win a major competition. The top eight players tee off last and thus enhances the excitement with all other players waiting anxiously on the 18th green for the results. Lakis was not playing in the top eight because he only played 5 events previously while the others played 7 events. The format for the Order of Merit is six events out of eight.

Left handed Lakis is one of the most successful players in the Society. He won the Player of the Year Award in 1994 and 1998 a record he shares with Chris Antoniou. His other major achievements: 2011 Louisianna Singles KO Champion, 1998 Masters Cup, four ball winner 1998 and 2008 and Hole In One in 1995 and 2008.

After the evening meal and the speeches the Captain Michael Tsangarides and Mr Nick Staton presented the trophies to the winners:
