Cyprus EU Presidency conducts first trilogue meeting on regulation revision for air passenger rights

Cyprus Minister of Transport, Communications and Works Alexis Vafeades and the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary Marina Ioannou Hasapi are in Brussels to participate in the first trilogue meeting during the Cyprus EU Presidency on the revision of the Regulation on passenger rights in air transport.

A press release by the Ministry explains that the trilogue brings together the three main EU institutions, the Council of the EU, the European Parliament and the European Commission, with the aim of reaching a political agreement on the amendment of the Regulation.

“The Republic of Cyprus as the current Presidency of the Council of the EU is fully committed to reaching an agreement that will remain devoted to the Council’s main objectives of achieving a clear and balanced Regulation,” the Ministry says.
